Never lose track of what Claude is waiting on.

A Claude Code mod that turns Claude’s requests into checklist cards.

Claude often finishes a long reply by asking you to do something: run a command, check a file, pick between two options. Then you look away, the conversation moves on, and the request is buried somewhere in the scrollback.

Handoffs puts each of those requests on a card in its own pane, with the steps to tick off, the choice to make and the files to open. A band above the prompt shows when anything is still waiting on you.

A 36-second tour of one session. Claude hands over two requests, and you work through them from the pane.

Steps get ticked, a photo opens for review, an option is picked and sent back, Claude closes the card, and a command is copied. The project and its data are made up for the demo.

The problem: requests that scroll away

The longer you work with Claude, the more it hands back to you. In a busy session those requests are easy to miss.

  • They arrive mid-reply

    The thing Claude needs from you sits at the end of a long answer, after the tool output and the explanation.

  • They pile up

    A deploy step, a decision and a file to review can all be open at once, spread across different replies.

  • They get lost in a compaction

    When a long conversation is summarized, a request you haven’t answered yet can drop out of what Claude remembers.

You shouldn’t have to scroll back through an hour of output to find out what you were supposed to do.

What you get

An easy summary to-do list of every action Claude requires from you, with interactive buttons to fulfill each request.

  • Steps you can tick

    Each card lists what to do in order. Tick steps off as you go, and Claude sees which ones are done.

  • Decisions as buttons

    When there’s a choice, each option is a button. Pick one and send it back, without typing a reply.

  • Everything on the card

    The files you need to review, the commands you need to run and links to the relevant websites are all on the card, each with its own button.

  • Nothing forgotten

    Open cards stay through a compaction and come back when you resume a session, so Claude still knows what it’s waiting on.

How to use it

Claude Code

/plugin marketplace add ghosthat-studio/marketplace
/plugin install handoffs@ghosthat-studio

Then

  1. Run /reload-plugins, or start a new session.
  2. Type /handoffs any time to open the pane.

  • Compatibility

    • Mac
    • Linux
    • Windows: in WSL, in the Claude Code CLI in PowerShell, and in Claude Desktop
    • Claude Code 2.1.299 or later

  • Recommended configuration

    • The latest Claude Code: claude update
    • Fullscreen mode, so the pane sits beside the conversation: /tui fullscreen
    • Windows Terminal on Windows
    • The Auto theme, so the pane follows your system’s light or dark mode: /theme

Handoffs is a mod, so it runs in Claude Code only. Cards stay on your machine, and the mod sends nothing to us.
