These terms govern your use of the Ghost Hat Studio website and the content on it. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. They are written to be plain and fair, and they do not take away any rights the law gives you as a consumer.
01 Who we are
This site is operated by Ghost Hat Studio LLC, an AI infrastructure consultancy based in North Bend, Washington, United States. In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “Ghost Hat Studio” mean Ghost Hat Studio LLC. You can reach us at [email protected].
02 Using the site
You may read, browse, and link to the site for your own personal and business use. In return, you agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any connected system;
- interfere with how the site works, or attempt to overload or disrupt it;
- scrape, copy, or harvest content at scale, or use it to train a model, without our written permission.
We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site at any time without notice. We are not liable to you if the site is unavailable for any period.
03 Our content and brand
Unless we say otherwise, everything on this site (the writing, design, code, graphics, the Ghost Hat name, logo, and brand) is owned by Ghost Hat Studio LLC or used with permission, and is protected by intellectual property law.
You may quote short excerpts of our blog posts with clear attribution and a link back. You may not copy, republish, or reuse our content or brand for commercial purposes, or in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written permission.
04 Blog and informational content
Our blog and other writing share our views and field notes on building AI systems. They are general information, not professional, legal, financial, or technical advice for your specific situation. You should not act on them without your own judgement, and where it matters, your own professional advice.
We aim to be accurate, but we do not promise that everything on the site is complete, current, or error free, and the technology landscape changes quickly.
05 Working with us
Nothing on this site is a binding offer to provide services, and using the site does not create a client relationship. Any description of what we do, and anything we discuss on a call or by email, is for general information until we agree otherwise in writing.
If we work together, that engagement is governed by a separate written agreement (such as a proposal or statement of work) that sets out the scope, fees, timeline, and terms. Where that agreement and these site terms differ, the written engagement agreement controls for that work.
06 Third-party services and links
We use a few third-party tools to run the site, including Calendly for scheduling and Buttondown for our newsletter, and we link to other sites such as LinkedIn. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites and services we do not operate.
07 Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. We will only send what you signed up for.
08 Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
09 Disclaimers and liability
The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ghost Hat Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights that the law of your home country gives you.
10 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our site or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The state and federal courts located in Washington will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the mandatory law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
